Difference Between Copaiba Oil and CBD Oil

Many known and unknown healing herbs act as instant remedies to both contemporary and prevalent health issues. Both Copaiba oil and CBD oil are known for their adequacy to relieve us from certain health conditions and essential oils.

Copaiba oil tends to wounds, relieves pain, and helps to cleanse infections, bladder infections, and gonorrhea. CBD also works as a miracle medicine in curing anxiety, depression, heart disease, and acne. So, the medicinal potency of these two oils is evident.

In this article, I will describe what Copaiba oil and CBD oils are. I will give a minute description of each of these oils and mention the similarities and the differences between the two types of oils.

What Is Copaiba Oil?

The Trunks of a particular tree belonging to the genus Copaifera give out a sap-like substance called Copaiba balsam. These Trees are widely available in the tropical regions of South America. Copaiba has long had the indigenous people who use it to make Copaiba oil.

The oil has a tale of its utilities as popular folk medicine and has oral, topical, and aromatic uses. For example, Copaiba cures bronchitis, UTI, constipation, and cancer through its oral use; the topical use cures hemorrhoids, heals wounds and genital herpes. In addition, Copaiba has aromatic use in soaps, perfumes, and cosmetics.

What Is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol, otherwise called CBD, is a natural remedy used in different medical conditions. Cannabis or Marijuana plants have hundreds of medical compounds, and cannabidiol is one of them.

The compound does not have any psychoactive effect like Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, making it an appealing option for pain relief without any side effects of marijuana or other medical compounds.

CBD oil is made through a specific extraction process from the cannabis plant. After extraction, the component is diluted with carrier oils like coconut oil, hemp seed oils. CBD is proving itself useful for its medicinal qualities. Studies supporting CBD to cure chronic pain and anxiety are genuine and effective.

Copaiba and CBD have many differences. But they also have many similarities in many aspects. For example, copaiba oil and CBD oil are essential oils, and they have remedial health potencies. But that is not all; both interact biochemically with our body’s ECS or Endocannabinoid System.

Copaiba vs. CBD

The key difference that distinguishes Copaiba and CBD from each other is the way they interact with the cannabinoid receptors of the ECS. There are two receptors of the ECS, namely, CB1 & CB2.

To explain further, the CBD binds with both CB1 and CB2 receptors of the body. CB1 receptors in the brain connect to an individual’s mental health, conditions such as anxiety, depression. On the other hand, CB2 connects the nervous system of the whole body, therefore, links to physical health like swelling, joint pain, and inflammation.

CBD’s capability to bind with both CB1 And CB2 receptors makes it a compelling medical component.

Copaiba, on the other hand, has a massive level of phytocannabinoid named beta-caryophyllene. Beta-caryophyllene, however, cannot bind to the CB1 receptors directly. Instead, it only binds with CB2 receptors and affects the ECS.

Copaiba makes strong bonds with the CB2 receptors causing powerful effects throughout the body rapidly. In comparison, CBD does not affect either of the receptors as Copaiba does with the CB2. CBD does not trigger any of the receptors directly, affecting the ECS not as strong as Copaiba oil.

Scientists believe that CBD does not directly attach itself to the receptors; instead, it modifies the receptors’ ability for binding with cannabinoids. By triggering the receptors, CBD makes possible health improvements.

How To Use Copaiba And CBD Oils

The best way to use Copaiba or CBD oil is to mix it with a carrier oil. The oil gives out a lovely earthy aroma. There are also topical uses of Copaiba in the form of balm, ointment, and tincture. Using it with a carrier oil helps you avoid the risk of toxicity. CBD oils can be used after mixing with lotions.

However, I will always recommend you to buy Copaiba oil with a healthy amount of carrier oil.

Bottom Line

Both of these essential oils have very effective results in the field of medicines. However, some safety measures are only necessary in cases of large doses of essential oil consumption. The side effects of consuming these oils in large amounts are vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, etc. Therefore, medical scientists are trying to utilize both of these oils simultaneously for better results.
